Cataloging, Collections and Technical Services
Gil Kenner presented at Library User Group meeting 5 on his ongoing efforts to digitize a historical collection of photos taken during the original construction of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel (HRBT). Kenner also worked with VDOT employee Chaz Weaver and VTRC historian Ann Miller in preparing an application for VTRC to be listed on the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Historic Civil Engineering Landmark Program, which recognizes historically significant local, national, and international civil engineering projects, structures, and sites. On the local front, he also helped secure new label printers for hard copy materials, which finally arrived and were installed after an extended delay.
