Understanding Open Access

In some cases, Open Access is mandated. Here is a list of universities that have an Open Access policy (Note: This information on this list may be delayed and may not capture every Open Access policy. Some sub-sections of a university [department, research group, lab, etc] may have their own Open Access policy.)

Open Access policies are also put into place by federal funding agencies. These policies may mandate grant-funded research is made Open. This includes U.S. federal government agencies OA mandates adopted as part of H.R. 3547 (Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014).
