ASTM Compass: Quick Start Guide: New Users

If you work at VDOT but have never used ASTM Compass before, follow these instructions to get started. 

1. From the Library’s Web site or the Library’s Online Catalog follow one of the links to ASTM Compass.  A handy link for your bookmarks is: library.vdot.virginia.gov/resources/astm
 

2. The first time (and only the first time) a new user who has never had an ASTM Compass account goes to ASTM Compass they will be directed to a screen that looks like this. For VDOT personnel on the VDOT network Okta will detect and pre-populate the profile fields for e-mail address and agency. All you need to do is enter your first and last name and click "save."  

NOTE: New users will only see this screen once: The very first time they access ASTM Compass via Okta.

3. New users who fill out the screen above and click save will see this screen next. Review the ASTM License Agreement and click "Agree and Continue" to enter ASTM Compass: 

NOTE: Users will typically not see the ASTM License agreement again.
