Using the SharePoint Mobile App: Apple Device Installation

This guide walks VDOT employees through the process of downloading the SharePoint Mobile App and accessing VDOT's new SharePoint Online site from any connected device.

Disclaimer:

The instructions on this page show installation and use from an iPhone or an iPad. The SharePoint Mobile App is also available for Android Devices, but the steps are slightly different.

iPhone: Screen-By-Screen Installation & Authentication Instructions

Step 2:

After installing the app, select "Sign in To SharePoint Online"

Step 3:

OKTA authentication prompts will appear:

Enter your VDOT Username and your VDOT network password.

Select "Sign In"

Note: Check "Remember me" and your credentials will be retained.

Step 4:

OKTA requires a multifactor authentication. In the example shown here the second factor is SMS authentication.

In this example, a 6-digit code is sent via SMS text message to a phone number specified by the employee.

Enter that code as shown and select "Verify"

Note: Other options are "voice call" and "Google Authenticator"

Step 5:

You should now be connected to VDOT's SharePoint Online Site!

Note: The first time you access the site you will be asked if you want to receive "Notifications" and an online assistant will demonstrate app features.

Change settings for the app at any time by going to: General > Settings > Notifications > SharePoint.

 

iPad: Screen-By-Screen Installation & Authentication Instructions
