Skillsoft Books now utilizes Single Sign On (SSO) authentication, which means VDOT employees logged in to the VDOT network can click on a link to Skillsoft Books and they will be automatically recognized by their VDOT network credentials to access the database.
VDOT employees using their VDOT computer on the VDOT network can follow these steps to log in to Skillsoft Books.
Step 1: Using the Edge or Chrome browser, click: Skillsoft Books or use the bookmark/favorite: https://library.virginiadot.org/resources/skillsoft-books
Alternately, you can go to the library's Web site at https://library.virginiadot.org select the A-Z database list, and select Skillsoft Books, as shown below:
Step 2: VDOT employees logged on to the VDOT network (those "in the office" on their laptop, or working from home via VPN or Prisma), should be automatically recognized and allowed in to Skillsoft Books. You'll know you're in when you see a screen like this:
VDOT employees can also access Skillsoft Books from their home PC (laptop, ipad, or other connected device) by following these steps:

Alternately, you can go to the library's publicly accessible Web site at https://library.virginiadot.org select the A-Z Resource List, and select Skillsoft Books, as shown below:
Step 2: If you are off the VDOT network, you should see a login screen that looks like this:
You will be prompted to enter your VDOT NETWORK CREDENTIALS (i.e. the same credentials you use to log in to your VDOT computer at work). You will then be prompted by Okta to send a 6 digit Verification Code to a designated smartphone or email and then to enter the 6 digit code in another on-screen box immediately.
