"Advanced Search" is the default search mode and is what you will see when you first sign in to the catalog.
Advanced Search gives you the option of combining terms from multiple fields using search operators AND, OR or NOT. Searching for multiple fielded terms simultaneously is an advanced technique that can help focus your search.
Step 1: Select an index from the first pick list (Word(s), Author, Title, Publisher, Subject etc.).
Step 2: Type in the Term(s) you want to search for. In this case we're looking for resources cataloged with the subject heading "concrete":
Step 3: Next, select the AND, OR or NOT to depending on your needs. In the example below we'll build on the search for resources with the subject heading "concrete" by further limiting the search to resources by the author "Oxyildirim"
Step 4: Click 'Search' to launch the search. You can also click "Clear' to clear all fields and start over. You will notice that search your terms are highlighted in the results and the number of unique records matching your terms is also displayed:
