Research Services
The library utilizes Springshare’s LibAnswers to track patron interactions. This quarter there were 463 transactions, 188 of which were "reference questions." Most (62) were from VTRC personnel, with the other nine VDOT divisions accounting for 70 transactions and 56 transactions from non-VDOT patrons. The quantity of literature search requests continues a recent downward trajectory, with only one search delivered this quarter and an average of 1.33 searches delivered in the last three quarters. That is down from our historic average of 5 searches/quarter from 2014-present. We have noticed a sudden decrease in response rate to the survey tied to that service, causing concern over customer satisfaction.
The table to the right reflects the number of reference and research transactions the library had by district/division this quarter (132 total). Transactions added to those not affiliated with VDOT (56) totaled 188.

Literature Search & Synthesis: The library's literature search service helps patrons avoid reinventing the wheel or missing research that is relevant to their topic but difficult to find and access. We completed only one search this quarter:
