Library Quarterly Report FY17 Q1: July - September 2016

This quarter the library welcomed a new addition to its staff. Amber Anglada joined VDOT as a Research Librarian Associate. Amber’s responsibilities include “onboarding” new VDOT employees so that they have library accounts and know about the library, formatting the library’s quarterly reports, emailing overdue notices to patrons, and other duties as required.

Amber has helped issue overdue notices for library materials interlibrary loans and is working to help the library begin publishing Quarterly Reports again. She is also using the LibAnswers Dashboard to help route and answer patron inquiries.

Amber previously worked at the University of Virginia’s Law School Library in the Special Collections department. She received a Bachelor’s degree in English from UVa and is currently enrolled in online courses at Drexel University where she will be receiving a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MSLIS)  in 2017. Her concentrations are Digital Libraries and Library and Information Science Management.

In the fall of 2016, Amber was awarded the Ione A. Nelson Endowed Scholarship at Drexel.
